The Return is a documentary short following the emotional reunion of 12-year old Geovanny with his parents. Seven months earlier, Geovanny and his father Miguel were apprehended at the U.S.-Mexico border, forcibly separated by agents, and detained for months. Following one family’s emotional journey home to Guatemala, The Return casts a light on the long-term effects of the family separation policy and the urgent need for sustained care for the thousands of parents and children caught in its web.
